Description
Rigid-Flex PCBs combine the structural stability of traditional rigid boards with the dynamic flexibility of flexible circuits. The rigid sections (usually FR-4 or high-Tg materials) host components and provide mechanical strength, while the flexible sections (polyimide-based) serve as reliable interconnects that can bend, fold, or move without the need for cables or connectors.
Key advantages of this construction include:
- Significant space and weight savings
- Elimination of connectors and related failure points
- Improved signal integrity and EMI performance
- Higher reliability under vibration, shock, and repeated flexing
- Design freedom for complex 3D mechanical packaging
The example board demonstrates a typical multi-rigid-section layout with flexible ribbon interconnects, suitable for applications requiring both component density and mechanical adaptability. Our manufacturing capability covers single-sided, double-sided, and multi-layer Rigid-Flex constructions, with precise control of impedance, stack-up, and coverlay.
We support full turnkey PCBA services including component sourcing, SMT/THT assembly, AOI, X-ray inspection, functional testing, and conformal coating when required.

This is a high-performance Rigid-Flex PCB (rigid-flexible printed circuit board) designed for compact, high-reliability electronic systems. It integrates multiple rigid circuit board sections with flexible polyimide interconnects, enabling three-dimensional packaging, reduced connectors, and improved mechanical reliability.
The design shown features a central rigid board with a surface-mounted IC, connected via orange flexible circuits to two smaller rigid boards. This structure is typical of modern Rigid-Flex solutions used in space-constrained and high-vibration environments. We provide complete Rigid-Flex PCB fabrication and PCBA assembly services from prototype to volume production.
