Industrial Electronics
Decide where the handoff happens.
01
PCB assembly
Build and verify the board against the released documentation.
- HANDOFF TO DEFINE
- Board-level acceptance, identification and downstream interfaces.
02
Subassembly
Connect the board to defined cables, interfaces or mechanical parts.
- HANDOFF TO DEFINE
- Connection ownership, mounting and module verification.
03
Enclosed assembly
Bring electronics and mechanical parts into the agreed final configuration.
- HANDOFF TO DEFINE
- Final acceptance, labeling, records and packaging requirements.
Match acceptance to the handoff level.
Board-level inspection does not automatically verify every function after integration. Define the checks needed at each boundary.
- At board level
- Agree assembly inspection and any functional checks required before integration.
- After integration
- Review connections, configuration and functions affected by the final assembly.
Plan for the next build as well as this one.
Discuss component changes, revision control and repeat-build documentation where the product has a longer manufacturing lifecycle.
