Prototype to Production
Different stages. Different decisions.
- 01
Prototype
Use the initial assembly to investigate the specific design and manufacturing questions you have identified.
Decision: what needs to change or be confirmed? - 02
Pilot build
Review the manufacturing inputs, assembly sequence and verification approach against a more settled configuration.
Decision: are the build inputs and process expectations aligned? - 03
Production
Work from an agreed baseline, material scope and acceptance plan. Keep changes controlled across subsequent builds.
Decision: what remains consistent, and what needs review?
Treat readiness as a decision, not a date.
Design changes
Align the BOM, board files, drawings and firmware where applicable. Identify which previous observations remain relevant to the new revision.
Material changes
Confirm availability, supply responsibility and approved alternatives before setting build expectations.
Verification changes
Revisit fixtures, acceptance references and test coverage when the configuration or objective changes.
