Production Traceability
A record is useful when its relationships are clear.
Start with the questions you may need to answer later. Agree the identifiers and record scope needed to make those connections.
- 01
Design baseline
The released files and revision that define the build.
- 02
Material identity
The component or supplied-material references required by the project.
- 03
Build context
The assembly identifier and relevant process or change information.
- 04
Verification record
The check, its reference and the agreed result or disposition.
Work backward from a question.
Decide what an investigation should be able to connect before choosing the record detail.
- Which relevant material references are associated with the assembly?
- Which design and process revisions applied to the build?
- Which verification reference and outcome support the handoff?
Define record access, retention and handoff.
Agree the required format, reviewing parties, retention responsibilities and authorized access for the project. Actual record availability must be confirmed.
